Welcome to CASA of Forsyth County
Our vision is to help every abused child in Forsyth County who needs us. The courts and state foster care system are overloaded and sometimes children do not get the help they need. That’s where CASA volunteers step in!
Simply put, CASA volunteers act as a “guardian” to these children who are involved in the Juvenile Court through no fault of their own – they are the victims. This special volunteer will interview the child and all important adults in the child’s life. A written, detailed report with recommendations will be given to the judge to help make the best informed decisions about the child’s future. The CASA also attends court hearings and other important meetings to speak up on behalf of the child’s best interest.
Often times, this legal process can take months or even years. DFCS personnel and foster parents may change but the CASA is a consistent, stable presence for the child until the case is closed. The CASA remains involved until the child is safe and a permanent home is found.
We feel honored to be given this unique responsibility and opportunity to help these children. If you can help in any way, please explore our website further and then contact us. A brighter future for abused and neglected children is the goal and you can play a part!
